To claim O2 Rewards credit, text CLAIM to 50202 from your O2 Pay & Go phone. The text is free, and the credit lands on your account shortly after. You can also claim through the O2 Priority app or at payandgorewards.o2.co.uk.

Who is eligible for O2 Rewards?

O2 Rewards is for Pay As You Go customers only. Pay Monthly customers are not part of this scheme. If you top up on Pay & Go, O2 calculates your Rewards every three months and sends you a text at the start of each quarter telling you what you have earned.

How much do you get back?

The standard rate is 5% back on your top-ups. Depending on your usage, that can rise to 10%. O2 works out which rate applies each quarter based on your account activity, according to the O2 Rewards website at payandgorewards.o2.co.uk.

How to claim O2 Rewards: your three options

Text CLAIM to 50202. This is the quickest method. The text is free from any O2 Pay & Go handset, and as O2 states officially: "To use your Rewards to claim extra credit, text CLAIM to 50202. All these are free from your O2 Pay & Go phone."

Use the O2 Priority app. Sign in, find the Rewards section, and tap the button to claim or save your balance.

Visit the Rewards website. Go to payandgorewards.o2.co.uk, log in, and follow the on-screen steps.

Saving versus claiming: what is the difference?

When O2 notifies you of your Rewards balance, you have two choices. You can claim the credit immediately, which adds it to your phone balance for calls, texts and data. Or you can save it, rolling the balance forward to grow over the next quarter. Saving can make sense if you want to build up a larger amount before spending it.

Do not miss the deadline

This is the part most people miss. O2 is direct about it: "If you don't claim or save your O2 Rewards by next quarter you'll lose them." The Rewards do not roll over automatically. If you take no action before the quarter ends, the balance is wiped. Set a reminder when O2's notification text arrives.

Getting started if you have not joined yet

If you have not enrolled, you need a Rewards code from O2. Enter the code at payandgorewards.o2.co.uk and click 'Join O2 Rewards' to activate the scheme on your account. After that, top-ups start counting towards your quarterly balance automatically.

To use your Rewards to claim extra credit, text CLAIM to 50202. All these are free from your O2 Pay & Go phone.

If you don't claim or save your O2 Rewards by next quarter you'll lose them.
