The technique employed by The 1975 calculates and physically removes the same amount of carbon as it generates, ensuring a truly sustainable approach. By quantifying the carbon footprint of an O2 gig, the breakdown reveals that 75 tonnes originate from audience travel, eight tonnes are attributed to food and drinks, 0.5 tonnes come from artist travel, and the remaining emissions result from electricity and transportation of equipment by the production team.
