The Resolution of SAR Concerns

After the release of iOS 17.1, iPhone 12 users in France can expect the SAR values to no longer be problematic. However, there is an unfortunate consequence to this solution. Apple attributes the high SAR values to the off-body detection function in iOS.

The off-body detection function increases transmit power when the phone is not in direct contact with the body. With the upcoming update, this feature will be disabled in France. While it solves the SAR issue, it could potentially lead to poorer data connectivity in edge coverage areas for users.
