Gemma Atkinson hits back after she's mum-shamed for what she lets daughter Mia watch on TV

GEMMA Atkinson has hit back at mom-shamers after she revealed what she lets her four-year-old daughter watch on TV.

The former Hollyoaks star, 38, shared a picture of her little girl Mia watching CrossFit games on the telly.

But one unhappy follower questioned Gemma's parenting skills and said the youngster should be watching kids programmes instead of fitness shows.

The concerned fan went on to say that they worried it would cause "body conscious" issues later down the line.

Follower's Concerned Message:

One follower privately messaged the star and asked: "Are you not afraid that you are going to make her body conscious watching all that TV, she should be watching kids programmes."

They warned: "Be careful as this type of exposure to kids can cause them to be body conscious and have eating problems."

Gemma Hits Back:

Gemma shared the DM on her Instagram Stories and hit back, writing: "I received this message about Mia loving CrossFit.

"The 'should be watching kids programmes' baffled me a little.

"One of our friends is one of the best CrossFit athletes in the world and whenever she's been to stay with us, Mia has looked up to her in awe of her physical strength and capabilities in regards to gymnastics etc."

Gemma said it's all about striking the right "balance" and she is proud that her daughter is developing the right skills.

"We also go for ice creams and have pizza every weekend and pic n mix at the cinemas. Fab lollies after tea an pancakes on Sundays," she continued.

"We have (in my opinion) the perfect balance.

"I'm personally very happy that Mia loves sports and that she has strong role models and she CHOOSES to watch the games.

"I'm sick of watching it tbh.

"When it's not CrossFit she loves The Yorkshire Vet or Come Dine With Me. Genuinely!

"So no, I'm not afraid it'll cause her image problems.

It comes just days after Gemma faced a barrage of criticism from cruel trolls as she shared a video of her baby boy Thiago.

Taking to Instagram to share a new video, she joked that her fluffy dog Norman appeared to have a new pup in the form of her newborn.

Norman could be seen laid directly at the side of Thiago as he was placed on his back on a baby mat with his hand reaching out to play with the dog's fur.

Some fans were not impressed, with one writing: "You still have to be careful with any dogs with a baby or child."
