It has already announced plans to open a tech hub in Newcastle upon Tyne and has successfully made several acquisitions in London, including service design specialist Evoco, data and business intelligence specialist Instinctive BI, cloud adoption company Automation Logic, and business analytics provider Qubix.

According to Tom O'Connor, CEO of Version 1, the expansion into Birmingham will cater to the needs of both current and future customers. He further stated, "The technology talent in this region is impressive and has been a key factor in our decision, along with the support provided by the West Midlands Growth Company." Version 1 received dedicated account management and valuable introductions to the West Midlands Combined Authority.

Ownership Change
Version 1 changed ownership in 2022 when Swiss private equity firm Partners Group acquired a majority interest in the company. The transaction was completed in August 2022, valuing Version 1 at up to £800 million.
