Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 August: Irish heritage celebrated at Ulster Folk Museum's Making Festival

This weekend, the Ulster Folk Museum at Cultra will host the two-day Making Festival, a celebration of Northern Ireland's traditional crafts and heritage skills. Attendees will have the opportunity to watch and participate in activities such as drystone walling, stonemasonry, signwriting, stained glass, and thatching. The festival will also feature traditional music sessions, film screenings, wood turning, musical instrument making, and traditional food demonstrations.

Preserving Northern Ireland's unique way of life

The Ulster Folk Museum, established in 1964, was created to safeguard Northern Ireland's distinct way of life. "The Making Festival will be a special weekend of discovery and participation, celebrating Northern Ireland's rich traditions and showcasing the talents of our artisans," says Susan Starrett, General Manager at the Ulster Folk Museum.
