Linkin Park's Mike Shinoda Hints at Possible New Music Release
Renowned singer, rapper, producer, and solo artist, Mike Shinoda, has taken to social media to suggest that he may be gearing up to release new music. In a brief 23-second video posted yesterday (31 August), Shinoda can be seen shaving his head, accompanied by the caption "soon". This potential release would mark Shinoda's first new music since the 'Dropped Frames' trilogy of albums in 2020, which followed his debut solo record, 'Post Traumatic', released in 2018.

Dua Lipa unveils the untold key to mind-blowing passion, sharing her candid journey through romantic connections.
Speaking to NME earlier this year, Shinoda expressed his thoughts on the possibility of creating more solo music: "It's weird to make songs without an idea of what they'll end up being. Right now, I'm just making the stuff I want to make. I don't know what it'll end up being, and at this point, I don't care about defining that. I just want to make songs."
Earlier this year, Shinoda released 'In My Head', a captivating electro-pop track featuring vocals from American singer-songwriter Kailee Morgue. The song made its way onto the soundtrack of the film Scream VI, where Shinoda also produced and co-wrote Demi Lovato's 'Still Alive'.
The Mind-Blowing Reason Why Jackass 5 Could Leave You in Utter Disbelief, Even After the Epic $559M Franchise FinaleIn April, Shinoda shared with NME that the creation of these two songs was partly influenced by his work on the 20th-anniversary re-release of Linkin Park's album 'Meteora'. He expressed his rediscovered passion for playing live instruments, stating, "I definitely got reminded of the fun of playing live instruments. It's been a while since I was in the studio with Linkin Park making anything, and I was like, 'Oh yeah, there's an element of experimentation with live instruments that I just haven't done in a while.'"
April also saw the release of an expanded version of 'Meteora', featuring previously unheard demos and live performances. The band's most recent album, 'One More Light', was released in 2017, merely two months before the tragic loss of lead vocalist Chester Bennington.
