The event, held at the Irish Emigration Museum in Dublin’s Docklands, gathered international experts who discussed the responsible use of AI and data.

O'Carroll warned that data privacy investigations can have a devastating impact on organizations.

He also warned against 'privacy-washing' GDPR certifications from commercial organizations, stating that official GDPR certifications do not exist.

Jack Fitzsimons, co-founder of Oblivious AI and host of the summit, emphasized the importance of data privacy in the advancing field of AI. He discussed the challenges faced by professionals such as data scientists, lawyers, compliance officers, businesses, and consumers, and highlighted the need for privacy enhancing technologies (PETs) as a solution.

Oblivious AI, founded in 2020, develops tools that enable data scientists and machine learning models to work on sensitive data while maintaining confidentiality and ensuring trust between businesses.
