The upgraded headset, tentatively called Meta Quest Pro 2, is expected to be released in 2025 at a price of £2,000. The original Quest Pro was initially launched at £1,500, but the price was later reduced to £1,000. Although the prices of both headsets are much lower than Apple's anticipated £3,500 "spatial computer," they are not considered direct competitors.

Details regarding specific improvements on the Meta Quest Pro 2 are still under wraps. However, it is known that the new OLED microdisplays will increase the resolution from the Quest Pro's 1,800 x 1,920 pixels per eye (with a 106° horizontal FoV), yielding a total of approximately 7 million pixels. In comparison, Apple's headset boasts a total of 23 million pixels.
