Hutlihut Games has faced backlash from the Destiny community after fans noticed similarities between the pyramid ships shown in Void Crew and those in Destiny 2. In response, one of the Senior Artists at Hutlihut admitted that they took "inspiration" from Bungie's work.
Danny Masterson Sentenced to 30 Years for Raping 2 Women: Judge Dismisses DefenseVoid Crew, an adventure space sim published by Focus Entertainment, generated mixed reactions with its promotional artwork. While many admired the aesthetic and visual quality, others raised questions about the resemblance to ships in Destiny 2.

Artist Addresses Accusations
Kristoffer Nissen, Hutlihut's 3D Senior Artist, spoke up in the official Void Crew Discord to address the accusations. He explained, "There’s some inspiration to be had from Destiny for sure here. Overall, the Hollow’s design language is a mixture of lifeless geometric shapes, machinery, and some insect-like details and features."

Nissen acknowledged that the similarities had sparked controversy and suggested that Hutlihut might need to reconsider some of its art to differentiate it more clearly from Destiny 2.

It's worth noting that Bungie itself has faced copycat accusations in the past. In one instance, an iconic cutscene revealing the origin of The Witness was criticized for using a fan's artwork without permission. Bungie later apologized, credited the artist, and provided compensation.
