A whiskey and pop-up experience at Great Jones Distilling in downtown Manhattan is paying tribute to acclaimed artist Jean Michel Basquiat. The distillery, located just blocks away from Basquiat's former apartment and art studio, has introduced three new labels featuring Basquiat's artwork. The collection includes the Great Jones x Jean Michel Basquiat Dinosaur Edition and the Great Jones x Jean Michel Basquiat Skull Edition, both containing standard four-year-old Great Jones Straight Bourbon. Additionally, there is the Great Jones x Jean Michel Basquiat Pineau de Charentes Wine Cask-Finished Bourbon Distillery Exclusive, a seven-year-old Bourbon finished in Pineau de Charentes wine casks. The distillery has also transformed its tasting room into a 1980s New York-inspired space to honor Basquiat's time living in the city.

In addition, the distillery's basement speakeasy has been renamed The Basquiat Bar, adorned with original Basquiat prints, photographs of the artist, and cocktails and bites inspired by him. The Basquiat project will run from August to October, and visitors can also browse a curated collection of merchandise designed and produced by Rome Pays Off.
