Kuenssberg loses a third of Marr's viewers
The BBC's flagship Sunday politics show is experiencing a significant decline in viewership. According to figures obtained by the Sunday Times, Laura Kuenssberg's show has seen a drop of more than a third since she took over from Andrew Marr a year ago.

During his 16-year tenure, Marr attracted an average of 1.9 million viewers per episode. However, Kuenssberg's audience declined to 1.5 million in the final months of 2022 and now stands at 1.2 million per week this year. The BBC argues that when considering viewers who watch on iPlayer or other devices, Kuenssberg's average rises to around 1.5 million each week.

Kuenssberg criticized for lack of warmth
Some critics suggest that Kuenssberg lacks the "warmth" demonstrated by Marr and his predecessor, David Frost. The ongoing shake-up at Sky, with Trevor Phillips launching his new show, could also impact the competitive landscape. Rival broadcasters are vying for the BBC's audience, making it a challenging battle for viewership.

Sunday, it seems, is no longer a day of rest.
