Halloween is just around the corner, and a local club in Strathcona County is excited to bring some creative fun to the community with a pumpkin carving contest.

The Rotaract club aims to spark creativity and excitement among residents by organizing a pumpkin carving contest before Halloween. If successful, this event could become an annual tradition.

Exciting prizes and participation details

According to event organizer, Jane Houle, they expect around 100 participants for the contest. However, the event space can accommodate up to 140 participants to ensure everyone can enjoy the day.

Each ticket purchased will include a pumpkin, a set of knives, and a spoon. Additional carving tools can be brought if desired. It's important to note that each ticket is per pumpkin, allowing multiple participants to work on the same pumpkin. Participants will have 90 minutes to unleash their creativity and carve their pumpkins.

Exciting prizes

The organizers are currently finalizing the prizes, but there will be a total of five winners. The first-place winner will have the opportunity to choose their prize first, while the second-place winner will select from the remaining four prizes, and so on. The prizes will include homemade quilts and items contributed by local businesses.
