Protesters Interrupt Antony Blinken's Request For Aid To Israel
During a Senate committee hearing, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken was interrupted by protesters who called for a ceasefire and criticized the Biden administration's request for more US aid to support Israel's attacks on Gaza.

The protesters, sitting at the back of the chamber with red-painted hands, shouted at Blinken, accusing him of having "blood on his hands" and demanding a ceasefire. They also chanted, "From Palestine to Mexico, all the walls have got to go!"
Blinken paused his testimony without acknowledging the demonstrators, and security eventually removed at least one protester from the room.

Protesters also interrupted testimony from Secretary of Defense Lloyd J Austin during the hearing.

The activist group CODEPINK took responsibility for the protest.
Blinken's testimony focused on the Biden administration's request for national security supplemental funding, which includes a directed amount of £11.5 billion to support Israel. However, concerns have been raised by humanitarian groups about the impact on Palestinians in Gaza who are under Israeli bombardment.

Since the outbreak of conflict, Israel has launched airstrikes and imposed restrictions on water, power, electricity, internet, and phone services in Gaza. Both Israel and Hamas may have committed war crimes, according to the United Nations.
During his testimony, Blinken addressed concerns regarding Israel's actions, emphasizing the need for Israel to operate by the law of war and international humanitarian law to minimize civilian casualties.
