Prince William touched down in New York on Monday and immediately embarked on an unconventional venture.

According to Agata Poniatowski, the public outreach manager for the Billion Oyster Project, the Prince's immersion in the water was significant. Poniatowski joined William in the water and described him as "really, really excited" about the activity.
On Monday, the Prince's engagement with the organization began with a boat ride to Governor's Island immediately after his flight from the UK.
During his time on the island, he met with restaurateurs, volunteers, staff, and students involved in the project. Later, he proceeded to Brooklyn Bridge Park, where he immersed himself in the water to observe the oysters.

Prince William is currently in New York as part of his environmental initiative, The Earthshot Prize. The finalists for this year's awards will be announced on Tuesday at the Earthshot Prize Innovation Summit, co-hosted by Michael Bloomberg's Bloomberg Philanthropies.

Expressing his delight at being back in the United States, the Prince said, "No one does optimism and ingenuity like the American people, so it's only right we unveil this year's Earthshot finalists in New York City."
William is also expected to meet with first responders in Manhattan on Tuesday, where he will discuss their work and mental health. The Prince, who previously served as an emergency first responder during his time as a helicopter pilot, empathizes with the importance of this visit occurring a few days after the September 11 attacks.
