Star Trek Animated Series 'Prodigy' Finds New Home on Netflix After #SaveStarTrekProdigy Campaign
During the Star Trek Universe Panel at New York Comic Con, Alex Kurtzman, the executive producer, discussed the successful #SaveStarTrekProdigy campaign and announced that the animated series Prodigy has been picked up by Netflix. Kurtzman credited the fans for their immense support in bringing back the show, stating that their efforts had not been seen since the original Star Trek series.

Additionally, fans demonstrated their support by purchasing the first season home media releases, resulting in Part 1 selling out shortly after the show's removal from Paramount+ and Part 2 debuting on the Media Play Top 20 Sales Chart.
Kurtzman expressed his gratitude to the fans on behalf of the entire Prodigy cast and crew for their incredible support, as he emphasized their love for the show.

Netflix will be releasing all 20 episodes of the first season of Star Trek: Prodigy later this year. The second season is currently in progress and is planned for release in 2024. Aaron Waltke, the co-executive producer of Prodigy, provided an update on season 2's development, expressing excitement about how fantastic the episodes are turning out. He mentioned that the team will soon begin working on the final mix for the remaining episodes, eagerly anticipating the release of season 2 on Netflix in 2024.
