Kate explained, "He went forward, the door locked, but the disabled person had to free it. Because you're not allowed, because of the border, to do it yourself, so he was stuck in no man's land, literally between two borders, for an hour or so."

In a previous incident, Kate shared how Sir Elton John showed support for Derek by inviting them to his concert. Derek, who has struggled to recover from COVID-19, attended the concert with Kate and their children after being in a coma for a year.
