Attending the Induction Ceremony

In a recent episode of SiriusXM's "Trunk Nation With Eddie Trunk," Downing opened up about his initial deliberation on attending the event. Despite uncertainties, Downing and Les Binks, the former Judas Priest drummer, were delighted when they learned about their induction. However, they soon received an email notifying them that they were merely guests of the band, which wasn't what they had anticipated.

Throughout the event, Downing and Binks were segregated from the rest of the band, being kept separate during flights, in dressing rooms, and at hotels. Downing noted this as a significant contrast to his expectations.

Positive Experience with Richie Faulkner

Despite the challenges he faced, Downing expressed appreciation for Richie Faulkner, who replaced him in the band. Faulkner visited their dressing room and shared some lighthearted moments, including a visit from Dave Grohl. Downing commended Faulkner's down-to-earth nature and the camaraderie between them on stage.

Mixed Emotions

While Downing ultimately felt glad for attending the Rock Hall reunion, he admitted that it didn't quite measure up to his previous experiences. With two drummers and three guitar players present, the dynamics had changed. Nevertheless, Downing acknowledged that it was still a fun event.
