A Case of Negligence

In the complaint filed in Los Angeles Superior Court, DeLorenzo accuses the production of negligence for failing to adhere to regulations regarding lightning strikes in the vicinity of the set. Safety rules dictate that if lightning strikes within a certain radius of the film set, production must be immediately halted until the threat has subsided for at least 30 minutes. The complaint states that these rules were violated.

A Risky Decision

Despite ongoing weather-related delays, director John Showalter allegedly altered the scene to be shot in the rain and instructed the crew to continue filming, disregarding DeLorenzo's concerns about safety. Shortly after expressing his doubts, DeLorenzo was struck by lightning, leaving him unconscious and necessitating a visit to the emergency room.

DeLorenzo maintains that he had previously communicated with Warners' production coordinator and safety officers regarding the proper procedures for shooting in inclement weather. Their response reportedly advised him to purchase lightning detection devices and weather apps.

Lawsuit and Damages

In his lawsuit, DeLorenzo seeks compensatory and punitive damages for physical injuries, pain, emotional distress, and other related damages. The legal action names Warner Bros., The CW Network, and executive producer Jensen Ackles, known for his role in Supernatural, as defendants.

Warner Bros. has not yet responded to requests for comment regarding the lawsuit.
