New Space Telescope Euclid Beams Back First Razor-Sharp Images

Euclid, the newly launched space telescope by the European Space Agency, has revealed its first set of images. Equipped with highly sensitive sensors, Euclid captures razor-sharp images across a wide field of view. The telescope's visible instrument, composed of 36 detectors, can capture the equivalent of nearly 70 4K resolution screens in one shot, covering an area of the night sky comparable to two-and-a-half full moons seen from Earth.

Euclid's mission is to study dark matter and energy, and over the next six years, it will create a massive cosmic 3D map using its two instruments: the visible instrument and a Near-Infrared Spectrometer and Photometer. This data will help scientists gain a better understanding of how dark matter shapes and influences the universe.
