Disney+ Announces New Goosebumps Show Will Adapt These 5 Books
Disney has recently revealed the five Goosebumps novels that will serve as the inspiration for their upcoming television series. Following in the footsteps of the Goosebumps films led by Jack Black, the show will feature a storyline where an unspecified evil is unleashed upon the world, and the main characters must restore order.
The highly anticipated Disney+ series has generated even more excitement with the release of new photos and an official premiere date set for Friday the 13th of October. This means that fans don't have to wait much longer for their Goosebumps fix.
Now, the question remains: which books will be adapted?

The Five Books Goosebumps Will Draw From
1.) Say Cheese and Die! - Goosebumps Book #4
Say Cheese and Die! follows the story of Greg and his friends who stumble upon a peculiar camera. The unsettling pictures it takes seem to predict deadly outcomes.
This fourth Goosebumps book was released worldwide in November 1992 and has previously been adapted into an episode of the original television series.
2.) Night of the Living Dummy - Goosebumps Book #7

In Night of the Living Dummy, the seventh installment of the series, Lindy discovers a ventriloquist dummy named Slappy. Chaos ensues when a spell brings the dummies to life, leading to intense sibling rivalry.
Slappy, the iconic character from the Goosebumps series, has made appearances in all previous adaptations.
3.) The Haunted Mask - Goosebumps Books #11
Carly Beth's Halloween takes a terrifying turn when she puts on an incredible but unremovable mask. The Haunted Mask, released in September 1993, has become a fan-favorite since its publication.

While this memorable mask was featured in the original TV series, it is long overdue for a prominent role in the recent film adaptations.
4.) Go Eat Worms! - Goosebumps Book #21
Go Eat Worms! revolves around Todd, a prankster with an obsession for worms. His tricks take a dark turn when the worms turn against him, lurking everywhere he goes.
5.) The Cuckoo Clock of Doom - Goosebumps Book #28

In The Cuckoo Clock of Doom, twelve-year-old Michael accidentally causes time to reverse after tampering with his father's antique cuckoo clock. His actions unknowingly put himself at the risk of erasing his existence.
This twenty-eighth book in the series, released in February 1995, is highly regarded by author R. L. Stine.
Should Goosebumps Viewers Be Excited?
While many fans were hoping for an anthology format, allowing each chosen Goosebumps tale to be fully explored, the new series will likely have a more focused approach than the recent films. Disney's selection of only a few books suggests a narrower storyline.
The show might feature various stories played out entirely but with the same set of characters each time. Alternatively, the main characters may embark on a quest to uncover where these stories are unfolding.

The first five episodes of Goosebumps will premiere on Disney+ on October 13, followed by the next five in subsequent weeks.
