Clare Waight Keller, of Givenchy and Chloé Fame, Is the Designer Behind Uniqlo’s Newest Label
Clare Waight Keller, renowned for designing Meghan Markle's royal wedding dress and dressing celebrities like Cate Blanchett, Rachel Weisz, and Charlize Theron in Givenchy couture, recently launched her own label with Uniqlo. After leaving her position as the first female artistic director at Givenchy in April 2020, Waight Keller spent time with her family in the English countryside during the pandemic. However, by early 2022, she was back in London and looking for new opportunities in the luxury fashion industry.

A New Collaboration with Uniqlo
After discussing the possibility of working together, Waight Keller and Uniqlo decided to create a new label called Uniqlo: C. The debut collection, available in over 1,500 Uniqlo stores worldwide and on the company's e-commerce site, was launched on September 15. This collaboration provides Waight Keller with significant exposure, rivaling the attention she received for designing the royal wedding gown.

The fall 2023 launch collection consists of 30 pieces that reflect Waight Keller's signature style from her time at Givenchy and Chloé. She aimed to capture the essence of fluidity, movement, and femininity in her designs, while incorporating her British sensibilities and a touch of boy-meets-girl style. The collection embodies attitude dressing, showcasing Waight Keller's unique perspective.
