Coroner Investigates Death of Kiwi Fitness Influencer Raechelle Chase

Former competitive bodybuilder and Auckland-based fitness model Raechelle Chase has passed away.

Chase, a mother of 5, had 1.4 million followers on Facebook, where she shared motivational content about maintaining fitness as a single mother. She passed away earlier this month.

As the first New Zealand woman to participate in the Figure Olympia bodybuilding event in Las Vegas in 2011, Chase made history.

In recent years, she worked as a fitness model and influencer, providing online fitness mentoring.

According to her eldest daughter, Anna Chase, Raechelle was a devoted mother who made numerous sacrifices to give her children an exciting life. Despite challenges, she consistently achieved her goals.

Coroner Investigating

The Ministry of Justice spokesperson confirmed that Chase's death is currently under investigation by the coroner. No further information is available at this time.

In 2016, Chase shared her experience of leaving a "toxic and abusive" relationship following her separation from her husband, Chris Chase, in an article for Stuff.

Chris Chase, who was involved in distributing a designer drug in New Zealand, resulting in his imprisonment for 10 years, had a significant impact on Raechelle and her entire family.

Raechelle's message to others facing similar situations emphasized the importance of leaving abusive relationships, especially for the sake of their children.
