Barbara Knox, known for her portrayal of Rita Tanner on Coronation Street since 1972, has committed to continue her role on the show well into 2024, despite turning 90 on September 30. She holds the distinction of being one of the longest-serving cast members, appearing in 3,885 episodes out of the soap's 10,700.
