CHRISTINA Hendricks has shown off her drastic weight loss while wearing a swimsuit as she took a dip in the ocean during her visit to Ireland.

The Mad Men star shared the swimsuit photos, as well as the "terrifying" and "exhilarating" story behind the deep water plunge, on Instagram on Thursday.

Christina, 48, flaunted her slender frame in a brown one-piece swimsuit as she stood on the rock precipice leading into the Irish Sea.

One photo captured the Good Girls star treading the unforgiving waves as she made her way back to the shore.

Another snapshot showed an excited Christina post-plunge as she warmed her body inside a giant, green winter jacket.

A third pic featured the scenic view of the Irish Sea with a beautiful rainbow rising from and disappearing into the horizon.

In the post's caption, Christina explained: "Those of you who know me well, know I have a fear of the ocean. But bigger than that fear, is the fear of not doing something extraordinary because I’m too scared.

"So, I decided I would go to the 40 ft. In Dublin and jump into the Irish Sea."

The Toy Story 4 notable continued: "But before I could take my own steps, the ocean, in one dramatic wave, grabbed me from this rock and through me under, scraping my leg, plunging me underwater with a mouth full of salt water as I was gasping for breath and then pummeling me over and over again with waves that made it almost impossible to swim back to land."

She then concluded: "But I did it. And it was exhilarating. I survived. And I might even do it again. But better planning next time…. I’m proud of myself."

In the comment section, one person wrote: "Holt crap! Baptism by salt water!"

Another fan commented: "Brave!! That sea looks intense! I have a fear too. Once was sucked out into the ocean by a rip tide!"

Over the summer, Christina again showed off her weight loss in an Instagram post captioned: "Dinner with friends."

The photos captured Christina looking straight forward and standing in profile while wearing an elegant, evening dress.

The form-fitting dress included a floral-print lace overlay and a low-cut neckline that showed off her curvaceous figure and ample chest.

Christina, whose fiery red hair was pulled back into a loose bun, held a black leather clutch and accessorized with a pair of large, gold chandelier-like earrings.

The star who is known both for her head-turning figure and her onscreen talent, appeared to be sporting a slimmer frame than what fans have become accustomed to.

Christina Rene Hendricks was born in Knoxville, Tennessee on May 3, 1975, but grew up in Idaho.

She began her career as a model from ages 18 to 27.

In her early 20s, Christina began appearing in television shows including Beggars and Choosers and Kevin Hill, before landing her big break on Mad Men.

Hendricks married 500 Days of Summer star Geoffrey Arend in 2009, but the pair announced their divorce in October 2019.

Mad Men premiered on July 19, 2007.

The show followed the advertising alpha male Don Draper, played by Jon Hamm.

Christina played the popular character Joan Holloway for the show's seven seasons.

In June 2021, the actress opened up about her time filming Mad Men to The Guardian, and her comments about the culture on the set of the popular show quickly went viral after the interview.

"There certainly was a time when we were very critically acclaimed, and getting a lot of attention for our very good work and our very hard work, and everyone just wanted to ask me about my bra again," she said about being a full-chested woman on television.

She continued: "I don't know one musician or one model or one actor who has escaped that.
