Bodies is a British crime thriller limited series that premiered on Netflix on 19 October 2023. The series, consisting of eight episodes, is primarily written and created for Netflix by Paul Tomalin, based on the DC Vertigo comic and graphic novel of the same name by Si Spencer and illustrated by Dean Ormston, Tula Lotay, Meghan Hetrick, and Phil Winslade.[2]

    Development

    The series was announced in February 2022 with Paul Tomalin as the creator and executive producer. Moonage Pictures is the production company behind the series, and Danusia Samal also serves as a writer.[6]

    Casting

    In July 2022, the cast was announced, including Shira Haas, Stephen Graham, Jacob Fortune-Lloyd, Kyle Soller, and Amaka Okafor.[7]

    Filming

    Filming for the series started on 16 May 2022. Joel Devlin serves as the cinematographer, and many scenes were filmed in Hull's 'Old Town' and on board Hornblower Cruises' boats in York and at the City Cruises Boatyard in York. The series wrapped on 21 October 2022.[10]

    Reception

    The review aggregator website Rotten Tomatoes reported a 79% approval rating with an average rating of 6.5/10, based on 14 critic reviews. Metacritic assigned a score of 65 out of 100, indicating "generally favorable reviews" based on 7 critics.[12]
