President Biden States Ukraine is Not Yet Prepared for NATO Membership
US President Joe Biden has expressed that Kyiv is not yet ready for NATO membership. He underlined that the ongoing conflict with Russia must be resolved before the alliance can invite Ukraine to be a part of it.
In a recent interview with CNN’s Fareed Zakaria, Biden discussed several foreign policy matters before his weeklong visit to Lithuania for the 2023 NATO summit. Highlighted among these issues was Ukraine's desire to become part of the extensive defence alliance as it continues to combat Russia.

Biden on Ukraine's NATO Membership
"I don't think it's ready for membership in NATO," voiced Biden about Ukraine. He further explained that maintaining the unity of the alliance is "really critical" as he believes the primary aim of Russian President Vladimir Putin is to fragment the 30-member group.

However, despite the appeals of the Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, no concrete plans were made in that direction.
