Star Duo Bebe Neuwirth & Steven Skybell Step into Broadway's 'Cabaret'

The latest Broadway revival of the classic Cabaret welcomes the esteemed talents of two-time Tony awardee Bebe Neuwirth and Fiddler on the Roof star Steven Skybell. Neuwirth will grace the stage as "Fraulein Schneider," while Skybell portrays "Herr Schultz" in the production.

The pair will be joining forces with other notable actors, such as Eddie Redmayne, Gayle Rankin, and Ato Blankson-Wood. The show, officially titled Cabaret at the Kit Kat Club, is slated to start its previews at the August Wilson Theatre in April 2024, under the direction of Rebecca Frecknall.

With an impressive Broadway repertoire, including Fiddler in the Roof in Yiddish and Wicked, Skybell conveyed his sentiments on the role: "In these times of increased antisemitism, I am proud and privileged to play the Jewish role of ‘Herr Schultz’ in Cabaret."

The Legendary Music of 'Cabaret'

Featuring a vibrant score by John Kander and enchanting lyrics by Fred Ebb, Cabaret captivates audiences with a book by Joe Masteroff and is inspired by John Van Druten's play and Christopher Isherwood's stories. Audiences can look forward to iconic tracks such as “Willkommen,” “Mein Herr,” and “Money”.

Celebrated for her interpretations of Kander & Ebb's works, Neuwirth has also shone in productions such as Kiss of the Spider Woman and led a symphony tour with Bebe Sings Weill and Kander & Ebb.

The Cabaret revival, which premiered in London's West End in late 2021, saw Liza Sadovy and Elliot Levey inaugurate the roles of Fraulein Schneider and Herr Schultz.
