Doctor Who has revealed plans for an exciting new spin-off show that will bring back former cast members.
Tales of the TARDIS, a brand new six-part spin-off series set to premiere on November 1, will reunite beloved classic Doctor Who duos as they embark on a nostalgic journey through space and time, according to press materials.

The announcement comes ahead of the show's 60th anniversary specials, where David Tennant will be reprising his iconic role as The Doctor alongside Catherine Tate as Donna.

The six-part series will feature different duos in each episode, combining new scenes with classic episodes.

According to the plot description, these Doctor Who legends will reflect on their adventures and discover something new, providing viewers with a fresh insight into the story of each timeless pair.
The new scenes have been written by Russell T Davies and previous Doctor Who writers Phil Ford and Pete McTighe.
In addition to this exciting spin-off, BBC iPlayer will soon feature over 800 episodes of Doctor Who, bringing the entire back catalogue together in one place called The Whoniverse.

"Tales of the TARDIS will sit within The Whoniverse and features brand new and incredibly moving scenes with well-loved characters; it will be a fantastic starting point for a new generation to discover some of the most classic episodes and a joyous way for longstanding fans to catch up with old friends," said Russell T Davies.

The Whoniverse, launching on November 1, will also include the complete Doctor Who series from past years.
Following the anniversary episodes, a new series is set to introduce Ncuti Gatwa from Sex Education as the next Doctor.
