However, when Compact mode is active, the sidebar no longer provides instant access to installed games; these can be reached by navigating to the My Library section. Additionally, users can find the option to enable Compact mode in the drop-down menu under their profile picture, rather than via a more conveniently placed on-screen button.

Collaboration with hardware manufacturers is ongoing, with companies such as ASUS intending to set Compact mode as a default on handheld gadgets like the ROG Ally, enhancing the seamless integration of software and hardware.

The update goes beyond Compact mode, refining the notifications area to display only unread notifications, making it easier to stay updated with pertinent information. A new Gaming Service Repair Tool has also been added, designed to resolve any issues linked to the Gaming Service or to any missing content upon launching the Xbox app.

The revamped Xbox application is now accessible for download through the Microsoft Store, compatible with both Windows 10 and Windows 11 systems.
