Vodafone, as the Official Connectivity Partner to The Championships, Wimbledon, has achieved a new milestone by recording the most data ever used at the event. The recently concluded tournament saw 532,651 tennis fans attending, and they consumed over 64 terabytes (TB) of data over the span of two weeks. This marks the highest data usage ever recorded by Vodafone at Wimbledon.
One of the standout days for Vodafone was Sunday, July 9th, where they witnessed their busiest day with 5,619 gigabytes (GB) of carried data. On this day, spectators experienced thrilling matches featuring tennis stars like Novak Djokovic, Jannik Sinner, Elina Svitolina, and Marketa Vondroušová.

The Ladies’ and Gentlemen’s Singles Finals at The Championships, Wimbledon 2023 witnessed massive data consumption. During these highly anticipated matches, a staggering amount of 770GB of data was uploaded and 3,980GB was downloaded. A total of 15,000 tennis fans gathered at Centre Court on Saturday, July 15th, and Sunday, July 16th, to witness the intense battles. Marketa Vondroušová emerged victorious in the ladies’ singles, defeating Ons Jabeur, while 20-year-old Carlos Alcaraz clinched the gentlemen’s singles title in an epic five-set thriller against reigning champion Novak Djokovic.
