The Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 features a slightly less powerful CPU and ISP compared to other Snapdragon 7 series chips, indicating a slightly lower positioning in terms of performance. There have been rumors suggesting that the Redmi Note 13 series, set to launch later this month, could be one of the first devices to feature the Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 chipset.

The name of the chipset may be a bit confusing since there was no first-generation Snapdragon 7s or a second-gen Snapdragon 7. The meaning of the "s" in the name remains unknown, but it clearly indicates a cut in specifications. The CPU of the Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 consists of four high-performance cores clocked at 2.4 GHz and four power-efficient cores clocked at 1.95 GHz.

Although the Adreno GPU specifications have not been disclosed, it is confirmed to support FHD+ resolution at an impressive 144 Hz. The FastConnect 6700 connectivity platform on the Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 is a step down from the 6900 found on the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2. The peak download speed is limited to 2.9 Gbps, and the Bluetooth version is capped at 5.2, which still supports low-energy audio.

Qualcomm has not provided a specific timeline for the release of devices featuring the Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 chipset.
