X Introduces New Hiring Feature to Compete with LinkedIn
In a bid to expand its services beyond just social media, X (formerly Twitter) has unveiled a new job posting feature on its platform. The move comes as X aims to take on LinkedIn in the professional networking space.
The speculation about X's plans to challenge LinkedIn was confirmed on Friday with the official launch of the X Hiring Beta. This beta version allows verified organisations to post job openings directly on their profiles.

The new X Hiring feature aims to help companies and organisations find suitable candidates by featuring critical roles and reaching millions of relevant job seekers. Similar to LinkedIn, businesses can now display their job postings prominently in an effort to attract talent.
X shared a screenshot of Vercel, a verified organisation, showcasing the new feature. The screenshot revealed a dedicated "We're Hiring" section placed below the bio and above the posts on the profile.

While the X Hiring Beta puts X in direct competition with LinkedIn for job postings, it does not offer the same comprehensive set of features focused on job search and networking.
In addition to its competition with LinkedIn, X has also faced renewed competition from Meta's Threads social media platform. Meta recently launched a web version of its app to attract more users.
Further, X has introduced a five-second delay when users click on links from certain disliked domains. This move was confirmed by a Washington Post analysis and aims to discourage the spread of unwanted content.

However, despite these developments, X still has a long way to go in catching up with LinkedIn's dominant position in the professional networking market.
