Today, it's time for the 2021 Galaxy Watch4 and Galaxy Watch4 Classic to experience the new release. The update, with build number R870XXU1HWH3 for the Watch4 and R890XXU1HWH3 for the Watch4 Classic, is now available in the US. The software update also includes the July 2023 security patch level.

The new update brings a massive set of changes and improvements. Some important highlights include the ability to transfer the watch to a new phone without resetting it completely. Additionally, call controls have been enhanced, allowing users to adjust call volume, mute sound, and use keypad buttons directly from their watch. Bixby, the default voice assistant, can now read notifications aloud when headphones are connected to the watch. Users can also organize apps into folders, and control the wearable through various gestures such as shaking the wrist, making a fist, or pinching fingers.

Other notable features introduced in the update include the ability to check battery levels of the watch, phone, and Galaxy Buds. Samsung Health also sees significant improvements with enhanced sleep coaching, automatic recording of cycling workouts, personalized exercise creation, more accurate results for track runs, and personalized heart rate zones while running.
