Star Fox artist’s new Switch game has secured a publisher

The highly anticipated game, Omega 6 The Video Game, created by renowned artist Takaya Imamura, has officially secured a publisher. The game, which will be available on Nintendo Switch and Steam platforms, is set to release in 2024.

Takaya Imamura, the original artist behind popular titles like Star Fox and F-Zero, has taken on the role of leading the art direction and graphics for Omega 6 The Video Game. The game is an adaptation of Imamura's debut manga, Omega 6.

A collaboration between Happymeal, Pleocene, and Clear River Games

Omega 6 The Video Game is being developed by Happymeal and Pleocene, with Clear River Games as the primary publisher. City Connection, a publishing partner of Clear River Games, will also contribute to the game's release.

Original soundtrack by renowned composer Shinobu Amayake

Renowned Japanese composer and sound designer Shinobu Amayake, who previously worked at Nintendo, will be creating the original soundtrack for Omega 6 The Video Game. Amayake is best known for his work on games like Stunt Race FX.

Debut at the Tokyo Game Show

Omega 6 The Video Game will make its debut on the show floor of the highly anticipated Tokyo Game Show, which is scheduled to run from September 21-24. Players will have the opportunity to experience the game firsthand and get a taste of the intergalactic journey it offers.

"Omega 6 The Video Game features a brand new story, taking players on an intergalactic journey to locate a new home for the human race," according to Clear River Games.

"With adventure around every turn, the path rarely runs smoothly for voyagers Thunder and Kyra, who, joined by their robot Prop and alien Flavo, are forced to embark on a dubious treasure hunt in the ruins of a strange planet to settle their mounting debts."

Imamura's unique art style

In an exclusive interview with VGC, Imamura expressed the similarities between Omega 6 and Star Fox. He mentioned that while the story may be different, the retro-futuristic art style he is known for remains consistent. This style has been a signature element in his previous works and is showcased once again in Omega 6 The Video Game.
