Star Citizen Alpha 3.21: Mission Ready Update Released Ahead of Upcoming Announcements
The latest update for Star Citizen, alpha 3.21, called Mission Ready, has been released by developer Cloud Imperium Games (CIG). This update comes just before the two-day event, CitizenCon 2953, where the future of the controversial space sim will be discussed.

We have so many exciting developments and advancements to share that will make this our best CitizenCon to date," said Chris Roberts, chairman and CEO of CIG and Star Citizen creative director.

The Mission Ready update is free for Star Citizen players on the Persistent Universe (PU) and focuses on expanding content and systems for both lawful and criminal gameplay.

Patch Notes for Alpha 3.21: Mission Ready
- Replication Layer Split Preview: This technical milestone, crucial for the single environment shared by all players simultaneously, is being released in a new Preview Channel.
- Dropping Bombs with the Crusader A1 Spirit: The A1 Spirit is the first in a new line of mid-sized ships from Crusader Industries, designed for career professionals who demand high performance and reliable craftsmanship.
- Two New Missions Dial Up the Risk: Alpha 3.21 introduces a new outlaw mission to steal evidence from Security Post Kareah and a retrieve consignment mission that requires players to track down an item in specific underground facilities.
- Crusader's Platform Expansion: Multiple platforms across Crusader are added, allowing players to engage in explosive FPS skirmishes and support simultaneous iterations of missions.
- [REDACTED] Ship Ready for Service: A new ship will be revealed during CitizenCon 2953 and immediately available for purchase and in-game use.
Despite being considered one of the most controversial projects in the gaming industry, Star Citizen has raised a staggering £612,756,728 from over 4.8 million accounts since its crowdfunding campaign began in 2012.
