Strictly Come Dancing 2023 Couples Revealed During Launch Show

This year's Strictly Come Dancing pairs were unveiled during the exciting launch show on Saturday. The pre-recorded episode showcased the 15 celebrities meeting their professional dance partners for the first time before taking to the dance floor together in a group routine.

The pairings introduced some interesting combinations, including reigning pro champion Jowita Przystał joining forces with Paralympian Jody Cundy, following their victory in last year's series. Actor Layton Williams will also be a part of this year's same-sex couple, alongside his partner Nikita Kuzmin. Notably, EastEnders' Bobby Brazier, the current bookmakers' favorite, will dance with Dianne Buswell.

The pairings revealed that professional dancers Nadiya Bychkova, Neil Jones, and Michelle Tsiakkas will not be partnered with celebrities this year. However, they will still be involved in group numbers. It was previously announced that Amy Dowden would not be able to compete due to her ongoing treatment for breast cancer.

In relation to the pairings, dancer Dan Walker showed support for Nadiya and expressed his disappointment that she did not have a partner this year, stating, "She is so talented, the best teacher anyone could hope for, a top-class lobster, and she's the Yorkshire Barmaid!

Strictly Come Dancing 2023 will continue on Saturday at 6.15pm on BBC One.
