Sayeeda Warsi Criticizes Suella Braverman as 'Dangerous And Divisive'

Former Conservative cabinet minister Baroness Sayeeda Warsi has strongly criticized Suella Braverman, the home secretary, for her comments on pro-Palestine marches which she claims "embolden the far right".

During an appearance on Politics Hub with Sophy Ridge on Sky News, Warsi did not hold back in voicing her opinions on Braverman's labeling of the demonstrations as "hate marches".

Warsi took issue with Braverman's stance on the planned demonstrations around Armistice Day and Remembrance Sunday.

The Metropolitan Police has indicated that the organizers have no intention of going near The Cenotaph, where prominent events honoring the war dead will be held, but Warsi accused Braverman of turning this into "a political issue to embolden the far right".

In her scathing critique, Warsi described Braverman as "dangerous and divisive" and accused her of fanning the flames of division.

Warsi also expressed her concerns about some colleagues in the government, whom she labeled as "arsonists" for their role in exacerbating tensions between communities.

The government, including Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, has actively discouraged any demonstrations during Armistice Day and Remembrance Sunday, stating that it would be disrespectful and pose a risk to war memorials.

Armistice Day is observed in the UK on November 11 each year with a two-minute silence, commemorating the agreement that ended World War I.

The Palestinian Solidarity Campaign, which is organizing the march, is calling for a ceasefire in the Israel-Hamas conflict.

According to Tel Aviv, Hamas militants have killed 1,400 people and taken over 240 hostages during the recent attacks, while Gaza authorities allege that Israel has killed more than 9,770 Palestinians through airstrikes, ground invasion, and the siege.
