Samsung is set to redefine the capabilities of telephoto modules on smartphones by introducing 200MP sensors as a "second main camera." While current tele sensors fall short in terms of resolution, features like HDR, and video frame rates compared to the main camera, Samsung believes that its ISOCELL HP2 and HP3 sensors are the ideal solution.

Unlike current sensors, which typically offer 2x and 4x zoom capabilities at the same resolution, the 200MP sensors provide ample pixels and can even outperform low-resolution sensors with extended zoom capabilities. With a 4x zoom demonstration, the 200MP sensor stood up against an 11MP sensor with 3x optical and 1.3x digital zoom, showcasing the potential of the technology.
