James Bond Producer Explains Why 007 Fans Are In For Such A Wait Before Next Film

But according to franchise producer Barbara Broccoli, it may be a while before the next James Bond installment.

Barbara recently revealed that the franchise has a "big road ahead" before the next film, after Daniel Craig wrapped up his final appearance as 007 in "No Time To Die."

The Reason for the Wait

Barbara explained that the team needs time to reinvent the character before they are ready to start production.

"You know, it’s a whole new reinvention, so it’ll take some time," she added.

In the meantime, Barbara has been working on the Bond-themed game show "007: Road To A Million," which features various pairs of civilians competing in spy-centric tasks to build up their prize pot on a globe-trotting journey.

The show stars Brian Cox, who initially thought the casting call was for a new Bond film. "I should have realized that they haven’t got a new James Bond, so why would they be casting a villain?" he joked in a recent interview.

"But I thought: ‘This might be my big moment to play a Bond villain.’ I’ve always wanted to play a Bond villain."

The series is set to launch on Amazon Prime Video on November 10, with a second season already in the works.
