Rugby Legend Jason Robinson Partners with Vodafone and Sported to Launch UK Tour of Community Sports Clubs

The Abraham Moss Warriors, a local sports and activity community club in Manchester, had the honor of hosting a rugby coaching session with former British & Irish Lion and Vodafone UK Business ambassador, Jason Robinson OBE. The event was part of Vodafone's sports.connected initiative, which aims to provide digital connectivity and digital skills training to community sports clubs.

As part of the initiative, Jason Robinson will be visiting various clubs across the UK, including London, Cardiff, Glasgow, and Stoke-on-Trent, to promote sports involvement among disadvantaged groups during school holidays.

Vodafone, in collaboration with the Jason Robinson Foundation and charity Sported, is working to support grassroots community sports clubs and encourage young people in the UK to engage in physical activity and sport. The UK tour kicked off in Manchester, where children from the Abraham Moss Warriors had the opportunity to participate in a rugby coaching session and a Q&A with Jason Robinson.

During the session, Jason shared insights about his rugby career, his personal journey in the sport, and the significance of local community and grassroots rugby clubs. The Abraham Moss Warriors were also provided with new sporting equipment, including football boots, tops, rain jackets, and warm jumpers for the winter, courtesy of the Jason Robinson Foundation.

In addition to the visit, the sports.connected program, in collaboration with Sported, has provided the Abraham Moss Warriors with digital connectivity through SIM cards and access to a customized digital business skills platform called V-Hub. This platform offers educational webinars, toolkits, and training tailored to each club's needs, helping them raise funds and engage more young people in sport.

Moreover, the Abraham Moss Warriors received a grant from Vodafone's grant-giving scheme, which enables them to provide extra sporting activities for young people from deprived areas during school holidays.
