Global Smartphone Sales Declined by 8% in Q3: Counterpoint Report

The global smartphone market witnessed a decline of 8% in sell-through rates during the July-September period this year compared to the same period in the previous year. According to the latest report by Counterpoint, slower consumer demand is the key factor contributing to this decline. However, there was a slight growth of 2% in Q3 compared to Q2, which can be attributed to the recent launch of the iPhone 15 series.

Despite the overall decline, Samsung maintained its position as the top global smartphone player, capturing an estimated 20% share of total sales in Q3. The success of Samsung's Galaxy A-series played a crucial role in this achievement. Apple secured the second spot with a market share of 16%, while Xiaomi secured the third position with a 12% share.
