Girls Aloud Fans Have Mixed Emotions Amid Reports The Band Are Planning A Reunion

Girls Aloud, the popular girl band, is rumored to have reunited to record a new song, which has left fans in a frenzy. The track is reported to be a tribute to their late bandmate, Sarah Harding, who unfortunately passed away in 2021 due to breast cancer.

Nadine Coyle, Cheryl Tweedy, Nicola Roberts, and Kimberley Walsh recently got together secretly at a studio in North London to record vocals for the group's first new song in 11 years, according to The Sun. The tabloid also mentioned the shooting of a superhero-themed music video and plans for a tour in 2024.

Fans are ecstatic about the news and are eagerly awaiting an official announcement. However, there is a touch of sadness as the rumored new single will be the first without Sarah's vocals. One fan on X (formerly known as Twitter) expressed this sentiment, saying, "Can't wait for Girls Aloud to reunite, but it's gonna be so bittersweet without Sarah."

Girls Aloud gained fame in 2002 through the reality show Popstars: The Rivals, where they were formed as a girl band based on public voting. During their time together, they released five studio albums and achieved four UK number one singles. The band went their separate ways in 2013.

Last year, the group reunited to honor Sarah and raise funds for The Christie NHS Foundation Trust and Cancer Research UK through The Sarah Harding Breast Cancer Appeal.

When asked about the possibility of a Girls Aloud reunion, Cheryl mentioned that it hasn't even been a year since Sarah's passing and that the grief still feels fresh. She expressed that she has never experienced such grief before.

HuffPost UK has reached out to Girls Aloud's representatives for comment.
