HR leaders in Ireland are facing challenges in adapting to hybrid working, according to a report by CIPD. The study, which surveyed 1,456 HR workers in Ireland and the UK, highlighted that 41% of Irish respondents are finding it difficult to attract and retain talent in a hybrid working environment. Employee wellbeing and culture were also identified as key concerns arising from the shift to hybrid working.

She stressed that the demand for flexible and hybrid working is on the rise and employers must adapt to non-traditional approaches. Ireland, in fact, has witnessed a significant growth in the popularity of hybrid jobs in Europe.
Connaughton further stated, "Part of dealing with these management concerns is about updating policies and engaging with the workforce to understand the impact and benefits for workers and the organisation."

The report also highlighted that employee wellbeing has shown some improvement among Irish hybrid workers. 34% of respondents stated that their job has a positive or very positive impact on their mental health, compared to 31% in the previous year. Additionally, 21% said that their job has had a positive or very positive impact on their physical health, an increase from 16% in 2022.

Another report released by IrishJobs' Q3 jobs index revealed that flexible working models are particularly popular in cities. Employers based in Dublin, Limerick, and Cork are responsible for the majority of working-from-home vacancies this quarter. This suggests that the trend towards hybrid working in Ireland is driven by the challenges of commuting into major metropolitan centres.
