Anthropic Introduces a Premium Version of its ChatGPT Competitor
Anthropic, a San Francisco-based company co-founded by ex-OpenAI employees, has unveiled a paid version of its ChatGPT rival. The new offering, known as Claude, is designed to boost productivity and facilitate creativity across numerous tasks.

"This means you can level up your productivity across a range of tasks, including summarising research papers, querying contracts and iterating further on coding projects," said Anthropic in a blogpost. Weβre grateful for your support as we strive to build helpful, honest and harmless systems that fuel productivity and inspire creativity.

The release of the premium version comes after Alphabet, Google's parent company, invested Β£300 million (GBP) in Anthropic, acquiring a 10% stake. Anthropic subsequently selected Google Cloud as its "preferred cloud provider" and entered into a collaboration to develop AI computing systems.

In a similar vein, Anthropic secured Β£100 million (GBP) in funding from SK Telecom. This partnership will involve the joint development of a telecoms-focused, multilingual large language model and an AI platform.
Claude, described as a "harmless" AI system, boasts extensive capabilities when it comes to conversation and text-based tasks. Anthropic took steps to enhance user safety by implementing measures to prevent the chatbot from producing "offensive or dangerous" outputs.
