The team, consisting of Dr. Stephen P. Wren, Professor Adam Le Gresley, and PhD candidate Nathan Long, has produced an initial library of 28 squaric acid derivatives, designed to be bioisosteric replacements for carboxylic acids. These compounds demonstrate the potential for generating novel substances that can be used in various chemical transformations.

By teaming up with industry leaders Asynt and Key Organics, the Wren Group aims to enable access to essential lab tools and high-quality starting materials, promoting cost-effective chemistries for scientific research.

Published in the SynOpen Theime Journal, the group's research paper further explains how Asynt's DrySyn and CondenSyn can enhance reaction conditions, improve success rates, and reduce environmental impact in laboratories. Read the full paper on the journal's website.

Asynt is thrilled to be part of this innovative collaboration and eagerly awaits future developments from the Wren Group.
