Future Updates

For larger models such as the 3 Series and above, a transition to iDrive 8.5 is expected. By 2025, the introduction of Neue Klasse models will bring iDrive 10, featuring a parallelogram-shaped screen and a dashboard-wide head-up display.

BMW Digital Premium

In addition to the iDrive 9 update, the X1, iX1, and 2 Series Active Tourer will also receive the BMW Digital Premium option in November. This feature, available through the BMW ConnectedDrive Store, offers additional third-party apps, improved navigation functions, and AirConsole casual games. Users in Germany can access it for €9.98 per month, with an annual fee of €99 starting in mid-2024. A free three-month trial period is also available. BMW Digital Premium includes features like Expressive Mode, Relax Mode, Digital Art Mode, and the ability to pay parking fees in select European zones.
