BBC Confirms Celebrity Race Across The World Series 2

Fans of Race Across The World, we have exciting news - the BBC has officially announced the commissioning of the second series of the celebrity edition.

The star-studded spin-off of the hit travel adventure series will feature more famous faces embarking on backpacking adventures around the globe.

The announcement comes after the successful And that's a wrap of the first Celebrity series, which showcased the participation of notable personalities such as McFly drummer Harry Judd and his mum, Emma, racing driver Billy Monger and sister Bonny, All Saints’ Mel Blatt and her mum Helene, and Good Morning Britain host Alex Beresford and dad Noel.

Catherine Catton, the BBC’s head of commissioning for factual entertainment and events, expressed her gratitude to the cast and their commitment, and highlighted the positive response, particularly from young audiences on iPlayer.

Tim Harcourt, creative director at production company Studio Lambert, emphasized the show's authenticity and the audience's appreciation for the challenging nature of the Race, even when featuring well-known personalities and their loved ones.

Celebrity Race Across The World has become BBC’s biggest factual entertainment brand of the year so far since its debut in September, with the first episode attracting an average of over six million viewers.

In each series, the teams embarked on an epic journey of over 10,000 kilometers, starting in Morocco and passing through countries including Portugal, Corsica, Switzerland, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Germany before reaching their final destination in Norway. They relied solely on road or train transportation, with only the equivalent cost of flights between destinations allowed.

An air date for the second series is yet to be announced.
