Air Canada apologizes for removing passengers who refused vomit-soiled seats
Air Canada has issued an apology to two passengers who were forced off a plane by security after they complained about their seats being covered in vomit. The airline stated on Tuesday that the passengers did not receive the expected level of care.

The incident took place while passengers were boarding a flight from Las Vegas to Montreal on August 26. Susan Benson, a fellow passenger, shared a detailed account of the event on Facebook, which quickly went viral. Benson explained that there was a foul smell when she boarded the plane, but she was unaware of the cause initially.
"Apparently, someone had vomited in that area during the previous flight," Benson wrote. "Air Canada attempted to clean it quickly before boarding, but it was clear that a thorough cleaning was not done. They placed coffee grinds in the seat pouch and sprayed perfume to mask the smell."

According to Benson, the passengers assigned to the soiled seats informed a flight attendant that the seat and seatbelt were wet and still contained traces of vomit. Despite apologizing, the attendant and a supervisor stated that the flight was fully booked, and the passengers had no other choice but to sit there.
After some discussion, the airline provided the two women with blankets, wipes, and vomit bags to clean up and protect their clothes. However, later on, one of the pilots approached the women, who were heading to Vienna, and presented them with two options.

"They were given the choice to either find their own alternative flight or be escorted off the plane and placed on a no-fly list," Benson said. When the passengers questioned why they were being removed, the pilot accused them of being rude to the flight attendant, a claim Benson disputes.
Benson mentioned that a fellow passenger who understood the pilot's conversation in French communicated with him in an attempt to resolve the situation. After the pilot walked away, the fellow passenger assured the two women that the matter had been resolved.
