Jean Kasem met Casey Kasem, a well-known radio legend, in 1979 while working as a secretary in Casey's agent's office. They tied the knot one year later, despite a significant age difference, with Jean being 22 years younger than Casey. Together, they had one child, Liberty Jean Kasem, and Jean became a stepmother to Casey's three children from a previous marriage.
Their relationship faced challenges, with Casey's children expressing resentment towards Jean. Towards the end of Casey's life, a public feud erupted between Jean and Casey's children. Casey battled advanced Parkinson's Disease and dementia, and his children accused Jean of preventing them from visiting him.
